Dairy Product Prices Decreased Amid Market Uncertainty

In late July, prices for a range of dairy products in Ukraine decreased due to limited consumer demand and an increase in cheese imports. There is a risk that dairy exports to the EU could be suspended, which may lead to goods accumulating in warehouses, a surplus of raw milk on the market, and a further decline in domestic prices, reports Georghii Kukhaleishvili, an analyst at the Association of Milk Producers.

Upward Trend in Raw Milk Prices in Ukraine

In early July, raw milk prices in Ukraine remained stable, but are expected to rise amid increasing butter prices. Following an updated trade agreement with the EU, Ukraine received expanded quotas for dairy product exports, which facilitated the resumption of supplies and led to a raw material shortage in the domestic market, reports Georghii Kukhaleishvili, an analyst at the Association of Milk Producers.
