GDT Auction: Increased Supply Puts Pressure on Prices
According to DCA Market Intelligence, "bearish sentiment" prevailed in the dairy market after the 382nd GDT auction. International futures markets show downward trends in both New Zealand and the EU, while in the US, "bearish" signals are less pronounced. According to The Bullvine, an additional 15.5 thousand tonnes of product were sent from New Zealand for the 383rd GDT auction, equivalent to a month's raw milk production from approximately 50 thousand cows. This likely led to a noticeable decline in the price index following the new auction, reports Georghii Kukhaleishvili, an analyst at the Association of Milk Producers.

Butter Prices See Biggest Increase in Supermarkets
Over the past month in Ukraine, prices for packaged milk, kefir in Tetra Pak and glass bottles, cottage cheese, and Suluguni cheese decreased, while other dairy products became more expensive. The abolition of EU trade preferences may further lead to a reduction in domestic prices, reports Georghii Kukhaleishvili, an analyst at the Association of Milk Producers.

Purchase Prices Depend on EU Negotiations
In the second half of June, raw milk prices slightly decreased due to weak domestic demand and reduced exports following the EU's reinstatement of quotas and duties. The future price dynamics will depend on the results of negotiations with the European Commission regarding increased quotas, reports Georghii Kukhaleishvili, an analyst at the Association of Milk Producers.

Falling Purchase Prices Hold Back Milk Production
The reinstatement of EU duties, declining domestic demand, and China's ban on using milk powder for drinking milk production are putting additional pressure on purchase prices and forcing dairy farms to cut production costs and gradually reduce milk yields. It's not profitable for dairy farms to increase milk yields because milk processing enterprises cannot buy raw milk at adequate prices, reports Georghii Kukhaleishvili, an analyst at the Association of Milk Producers.
