Free Online Seminar on the Implementation of EU Cattle Welfare Requirements

We invite you to participate in a webinar organized by the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection (SSUFSCP) regarding the clarification of cattle and calf welfare requirements that will come into effect on January 1, 2026. Please note that the webinar for small-scale farms is scheduled for Monday, December 22, 2025, and for industrial-scale farms on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.

From January 1, 2026, mandatory European Union requirements regarding animal welfare for cattle housing will come into effect in Ukraine. These new regulations apply to both small-scale farming operations and industrial enterprises.

To inform stakeholders and facilitate the timely implementation of these Euro-integration requirements, the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine is hosting two free thematic online seminars.

SEMINAR 1

For: Owners and employees of small-scale farms, veterinary specialists, and other interested parties. Topic: Specifics of implementing cattle welfare requirements for small-scale farming conditions.

Agenda:

  • Key cattle welfare requirements coming into force in 2026;
  • Categories of small-scale farms for which these requirements are mandatory;
  • Practical approaches to cattle housing, care, and handling;
  • Common implementation mistakes and how to avoid them;
  • Procedure for obtaining the state certificate of animal welfare knowledge.

For: Owners and employees of industrial dairy and meat farms, industry associations, veterinary specialists, and other stakeholders. Topic: Implementation of cattle welfare requirements in industrial farming conditions.

  • Cattle welfare requirements effective from 2026;
  • Specifics of their application in industrial-scale operations;
  • Common implementation mistakes and recommendations for avoiding them;
  • Issues regarding state control and obtaining personnel knowledge level certificates.
