On October 16, 2025, the Association of Milk Producers (AMP) joined in congratulating the Swiss-Ukrainian program QFTP ("Quality Food Trade Programme" – Development of Trade with Higher Added Value in the Organic and Dairy Sectors of Ukraine) on 10 years of systemic Swiss support for the Ukrainian dairy sector.
Over this time, the cooperation between Ukraine and Switzerland has brought tangible results. As Olena Zhupinas, Deputy Director General of the AMP, emphasized in her congratulatory speech, at the beginning of the program in 2015, only 9% of raw milk, or 240 thousand tonnes, met European safety standards. By 2025, this figure had risen to 62%, or almost 2 million tonnes, which indicates a deep transformation of the industry.
Key achievements include: bringing the legislative base closer to EU standards, improving the system of state control over milk safety, and implementing the "Dairy Module" IT platform, which ensures transparency in laboratory control and strengthens trust among market participants; successful measures to raise awareness among market operators and competent authorities, and promoting Ukrainian dairy products on the global market.
Importantly, almost half of this 10-year period coincided with the full-scale war... therefore, the flexibility and adaptability of Swiss support to the urgent needs of the industry, including through humanitarian aid to de-occupied and frontline enterprises, became extremely valuable for the Ukrainian dairy sector.
"We are proud of our long-term partnership and sincerely grateful to the QFTP team for their leadership, professionalism, responsibility, and unwavering support in responding to the challenges and needs of the industry and its participants amidst the devastating full-scale war. Together, we continue to shape a future where quality, innovation, and cooperation define success," stressed Olena Zhupinas.
